Kristi and Martin - May 5, 2007
Kristi and Martin's big day can be summed up with one word: colourful! The theme was "Mexican", based on Kristi and Martin's favourite place to travel. The bright colours of Mexico were reflected in a fuschia and lime colour scheme, reflected in the stunning florals created by Oasis Flowers. A neat twist in the theme were the bridesmaids' bouquets - each one had her own special colour scheme, accented by black dresses. No Mexican-style wedding would be complete without music, and sure enough there were was an authentic mariachi band playing throughout the event. The reception at the Royal Vancouver Yacht Club featured an amazing five-course meal, complimented by a gorgeous cake custom designed by Culinary Capers. As the DJ played, everyone hit the dance floor - including Martin, who channeled a little Travolta when "Stayin' Alive" played! Thanks again to Kristi and Martin and your families for having us at your special day - it was beautiful!

Catherine and Edwin - Engagement Session
We had a beautiful evening for Catherine and Edwin's engagement session at Iona Beach Park - we got the kind of light most photographers dream about! These two were naturals in front of the camera, and we had a lot of fun photographing them in the many different environments available at this location. We were also reminded of how much bugs love Chris - he swears he ate at least two dozen during our shoot! I, on the other hand, seem to have some kind of force field around me that repels bugs - lucky me! We also got a chance to chat with Catherine and Edwin about their big day in late June, and it sounds fabulous - can't wait!

Transitions and Transformations
Over the next week, we will be making some exciting new changes to our website and our business. This includes a slightly modified business name, a new colour scheme, new galleries on our website, and lots of new images. Rest assured, everything else will stay the same - there are still two passionate, creative photographers bringing an innovative and distinctive style to your wedding and portrait images! Keep an eye on our site over the next week or so for our fresh, fun updates!

Gary and Tiffany - April 28, 2007
On Saturday, April 28 we had the privilege of photographing Tiffany and Gary's beautiful wedding. Their ceremony in particular was full of extra special personal touches, such as a worship dancer (think ballet crossed with performance art), gorgeous flower bouquets presented to the moms, and a song performed by Gary for Tiffany (he played the piano and sang - incredibly talented guy!) After the ceremony and family photos it was off to Yaletown for a fun photo session with the bridal party. We got some great shots, but I think everyone got a real kick out of seeing me stand on a rock and literally sit on Chris' shoulder, just to get the right angle! We then went to the amazing Terminal City Club for Gary and Tiffany's tea ceremony, followed by their reception. Thanks again for having us be a part of your special day!

Dave and Kathy - April 21, 2007
All I can say is that you have not met a hockey fan until you've met Dave and Kathy! These two are huge Canucks fans, and accordingly their reception had a hockey theme - just check out the image below of them entering their reception under an archway of hockey sticks! Hockey aside, we had a beautiful day for their wedding in Richmond. We started off with lots of laughs, as the bridesmaids made Dave play various "games" before he could even see Kathy (such as creating a wedding gown for a groomsman out of toilet paper!) After the ceremony we were off to the photo session, where we took full advantage of the beautiful spring flowers. It's not often that we get to shoot in April, so it's great to have the opportunity to use all the spring colours to enhance our images. We then proceeded to the hotel where a tea ceremony was held, followed by the very fun hockey-themed reception - complete with a recorded grand entrance announcement by John Ashbridge (the guy who announces stuff at Canucks games), which was made just for Dave and Kathy! Thanks again for having us at your amazing day!
Cecilia and Phil - Engagement Session
A couple weeks ago we shot Cecilia and Phil's engagement session right here in our own backyard, Steveston Village. I have lived here forever, so I think I know Steveston pretty well - and yet, everytime we go there, we find some new and funky place to shoot in. On this particular engagement session, we went to the Garry Point area and actually climbed down on the rocks next to the ocean to shoot Cecilia and Phil from the perfect angle - well, okay, I climbed down on the rocks, Chris shot safely from the grass! Balancing precariously with camera gear is a skill, one I can say I'm pretty good at, whether it be sharp, jagged rocks and waves inches away, or standing on a balcony railing two storeys up, or rolling around on the grass trying to avoid goose poo. All in a day's work! We're looking forward to Cecilia and Phil's big day in September!

Elizabeth and Chui - Engagement Session
Last week we had the pleasure of photographing Elizabeth and Chui's engagement session. These two are full of energy and I think the beautiful sunny day and gorgeous environment suited them to a tee. During their session, we learned an interesting fact: Elizabeth spent most of last August tirelessly searching for their wedding photographer. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that she had diligently checked out many talented photographers (29 to be exact!) and after all of that, chose to go with us! Needless to say, we are beyond flattered! There are many talented photographers in Vancouver, so it truly is an honour every time we're chosen to photograph a couple's big day. Thanks again to Elizabeth and Chui - we're really looking forward to your wedding in September!
