Jeff and Angel - Engagement Session

We shot Jeff and Angel's session up on Burnaby Mountain and on the SFU campus - two areas Chris and I have never been to before! This area was particularly meaningful for these two because they met while attending classes at the university. Since the weather was a little less than ideal, we had the whole mountain pretty much to ourselves! Jeff was a little shy in front of the camera, but that's why we do engagement sessions: to help our couples get more comfortable being photographed (good prep for the wedding day!) Angel is so cute and and was smiling and laughing all the time, which I'm sure helped Jeff relax! Together they make an awesome couple, and we're looking forward to their big day in August!

Melina and David - Engagement Session

What can I say about Melina and David? These two are FUN! We had such a cool day walking around Van Dusen Gardens and shooting in and amongst the various flowers, trees, and sculptures. When Melina and David booked their session with us, they said they wanted some "nice" photos of them. As I soon found out, this meant photos where they weren't goofing off, which is typically how they are recorded by friends and family (I even saw an image on their wedding website where they are pretending to pick each others' noses!) Needless to say, we would not be shooting any nose-picking images! I think what we captured reflects Melina and David's "less goofy" side, and also shows how truly in love these two are with each other. We are very much looking forward to their wedding in May - knowing these two, something crazy is bound to happen!

Andrea and Chetan - Engagement Session

We were lucky enough to have a decent day for Andrea and Chetan's session - I say lucky because we didn't have any other time to do it! Andrea and Chetan both live in New York, and were only here for a couple of days over Easter weekend. Fortunately, everything worked out and we had a great time wandering Steveston village and shooting some fun photos of these two. Their wedding is in August and it's promising to be a very cool event!

Mark and Helen - Engagement Session

We did Mark and Helen's engagement session on a drizzly and grey afternoon in April. I'm happy to say that the weather didn't dampen their spirits! We got some great shots of them laughing with each other and having a good time; this might have had something to do with the fact that it was Helen's birthday that day, as well as one year to the day that Mark proposed! We are very excited for these two and are looking forward to their wedding in August!

Ian and Jocelyn - March 18, 2006

Jocelyn and Ian got married on beautiful (but chilly!) March 18, 2006. To say these two are in love is some kind of understatement - they are clearly crazy about each other! From start to finish the day was filled with warmth and unique personal touches. For example, Ian was led into the Sikh temple grounds by a bagpiping band to represent his heritage. Jocelyn wore a gorgeous red lengha for the ceremony, but changed into a stunning ivory gown for the photo session and reception. It was a fantastic wedding and we wish them both the very best!

Jenna and Keith - Engagement Session

A couple weeks ago we did Jenna and Keith's engagement session. Not only did we have a lot of fun, but we did the session at a location we've never shot at before - Granville Island! There are so many cool little spots all around the buildings and shops on the island, and we made use of as many as we could find. We had a good time and I think we came away with some great images that truly show Jenna and Keith's personalities. We're looking forward to their wedding in August!

Cyrus and Anita - Engagement Session

What an amazing day we had for Cyrus and Anita's engagement session! It really could not have been more beautiful outside, and we took full advantage of it while shooting their session in Coal Harbour. This area has it all - scenic mountain and water views, towering highrises, and some very unusual sculptures. Cyrus and Anita fit in perfectly with their cheerful and easy-going personalities - they climbed, crouched, and walked all over Coal Harbour - anything for a cool photo! We're really looking forward to their wedding in April!

Chris' 30th Birthday!

On February 18, we celebrated Chris' 30th birthday. Being that it was somewhat of a milestone, I thought I'd have a little surprise party for him. I arranged to have all our friends meet secretly at the Zone Bowling Centre in Richmond. Chris' brother, Matt, and his girlfriend Dayna, met with us at our place. All Chris knew was that Matt and Dayna were coming out for his birthday and that we were going bowling, but little did he know what would be waiting for him! When we arrived, there were all our friends - needless to say, Chris didn't see it coming and was happily shocked! We then proceeded to a good old fashioned game of guys versus girls bowling - it wasn't competitive at all, of course! After bowling, everyone headed back to our place for a bite to eat, drinks, and DQ ice cream cake (gotta love that ice milk!)

Chris with the guys - I don't think they look too happy because they were losing.

Lisa and Alisa having a good time at the bowling alley.

Leah getting ready to take her shot.

The scoreboard - looks like the guys are doing pretty well now!

Another neat "abstract" bowling shot Chris took.

My best friend Alisa, sister-in-law Dayna, myself, and my sister Susan.

Kristi and Brian - March 11, 2006

On Saturday we had the honour of photographing Kristi and Brian's wedding. We were so lucky to have an incredibly beautiful day - there was barely a cloud in the sky! The ceremony was held at Kristi's parents' place, a lovely heritage home with lots of character and decorated with white and green tulips for the big day. After the ceremony we went to Queen Elizabeth Park, which actually still had snow in some areas from the snowfall last week. We've never had the opportunity to do wedding shots with snow in the background, so we were excited! Kristi and Brian both looked fantastic and radiant throughout the shoot, which was a bit chilly for Kristi in her strapless gown! Afterwards a delicious cocktail reception was held at the Arbutus Recreation Club. We wish Kristi and Brian all the very best - enjoy your honeymoon!
